A portion of the proceeds were donated to the Resource Center for the Americas as well as the Central Committee for Conscientious Objectors. Includes issue 5½ of Contrascience 'zine (42 pages!). Contains articles on military recruiting, the systematic attack on the working class in the U.S., interviews with the benefit causes & pages by the bands. REVIEWS MAXIMUMROCKNROLL - October 1997 It's extremely obvious that a lot of time was spent on this comp. First of all, there's a real diverse selection of bands. They've also been arranged so that each band somehow goes with the one before and after and the volume level is consistent throughout. Not easy to pull off considering the mix here: MAN AFRAID, THE STRIKE, MK ULTRA, DILLINGER 4, SWALLOWING SHIT, AND DEADSTOOLPIGEON, among others. Some of the bands are long gone, and some of the songs are previously released, but they've all got lyrics to keep you angry and thinking. This is a benefit and comes with Contrascience 'zine #5½. |
